This fabulous 60s carpet bag is made from a beautiful soft burgundy coloured plush velvet type fabric with a cream trellis pattern. It has a detachable cross over shoulder strap. All fitments are in gold-tone metal and trimmings in burgundy textured vinyl. The front flap secures with a large popper under which is a large open pocket lined in black grosgrain fabric. The metal vinyl covered frame has a central flip up clasp and opens to reveal a black stiffened grosgrain fabric lined interior with a vinyl lipstick and mirror pocket behind which is a gold trimmed zipped pocket and behind this again is a large open pocket. A beautifully made vintage shoulder bag that looks as if it has hardly been used.
It measures 29.5cm (11.5") wide, 20cm (8") high and 6cm (2.3") deep at widest point. The shoulder strap is 92cm (36") end to end and 46cm (18") from top of bag.
