A beautiful quality genuine vintage Kigu powder compact from the 59 Series produced between 1955 and 1958. It is oval in shape and the lid has a stunning petit point floral design in vibrant colours on a beige background with a celluloid covering for protection. The gold-tone metal around this has a pretty engine turned design and the back is also engine turned. Inside it has a clear mirror and a metal powder protector which opens with a sliding catch. There is some powder remnants remaining in the well along with it's original sifter but there is no powder puff. The engine turned powder guard has the Kigu stamp to it's centre, above the mirror it says, Patented and underneath the mirror, Made in England. This compact is both collectable, useable and would make the perfect gift for your loved one.
It measures 8cms across by 6.5cms.
In very good vintage condition showing only gentle signs of use.
