Eastern inspired 1950s structured designer hat by Edna Wallace. Made in a black velvet type fabric with black decorative braid trimmings edging two oval indented shapes either side of the hat and two rounded cut-outs shapes with silk inserts, one at the front and a larger one at the back. A wide loop of stiffened velvet fabric sits on top. Inside the hat is lined in black silky fabric with a black grosgrain inner band. There is a label inside which reads - Trikki by Edna Wallace, Made in England. This vintage hat has an Eastern and Victorian aura about it, very unusual and a lovely collectors item.
The inner band measures 54cm (21.25") circumference.
In excellent vintage condition.
