This rare genuine antique victorian brooch comprises of three genuine scarab beetles each in an enclosed setting with a decorative rope edging. We believe it is unmarked gold as was the case with most of this type of jewellery. It has a strong pin and c. clasp. Scarab beetles were regarded as sacred by the Egyptians and became very popular with the victorians after the discovery of Tutankhamuns tomb. This highly collectable antique brooch is a must for the serious collector.
It measures 4.1cms (1.65") across.
